Shercock AC had a busy weekend at the Ulster Indoor Championships in Athlone. There was a very high standard of competition but the Shercock athletes were to the fore in a number of events, winning medals and achieving new Pbs in the process.
Dylan O Reilly was the star club performer of the championships, winning gold in the U12 6Om and silver in the U12 600m. Eadaoin Lynch was also a double medal winner, taking silver in the U16 200m and bronze in the U16 60m .
Shane Mulligan ran superbly in the boys U19 200m to snatch the gold medal in the last few metres of his race. Other medal winners and All Ireland qualifiers are listed below.

Aoife Rogers and Abby Smith were unlucky not to qualify for the All Irelands when Aoife finished 5th in the U14 Girls Long jump and Abby was 5th in the U15 Girls 800m. We also had 6th place finishes from Aine Harney U13 SP, Mikaela Farrell U14 SP, Aoife Byrne U14 60 m hurdles and Freya Gormley U15 60m Hurdles.
We had 6 relay teams in action over the weekend with many of the relay team participants travelling to Athlone specially to make up relay teams and we are grateful for their commitment to their fellow athletes and to the club. This was the first time that a number of these athletes competed at provincial level and while they may not have medalled, the experience gained from stepping up to this standard of competition will stand to them in the future.
Congratulations to the Boys U14 team and to the Girls U16 team who both took the bronze medals in their respective relay races.
