Thomas Williams qualified to represent Ireland at the SIAB Schools International Track and Field which took place in Grangemouth, Scotland on 15th July. Thomas is a member of Shercock AC but on this occasion was representing his school, Coláiste Dún an Rí in Kingscourt. This is an international competition with 2 athletes from Ireland, England, Wales and Scotland competing. Thomas won Gold (one of only 4 golds won on the day by Irish athletes) and had a best of 64:50 (new PB on the day). He won by over 5.5 meters ahead of the athlete in second place. Thomas is also young in this age group and so will still be eligible next year. A great achievement and fantastic to see a Cavan man representing his country with such distinction.
