Thomas competed in the Welsh U17 championships in Saturday 12th August in Newport. Thomas won Gold with a best throw of 65:57 (this was more than 7 meters more than the championship best performance 58:37 set in 2012). Charlee Williams also competed in the Welsh U17 champs the following day and came away with a bronze medal with a best throw of 37:34. This was a particularly good result for Charlee as she would still have another 3 years eligible at this age group and the girls who came first and second are both ranked 1 and 2 in the UK.
