Congratulations to Dylan O Reilly and Abby Smith who both medalled at the National Even Ages Cross Country Championships today in Gowran, Co Kilkenny.
Dylan got a top 12 medal when he placed 5th in the U12 boys 2k. Dylan was also first athlete home for his Ulster team which finished 3rd in the provincial category.
Dylan was also competing for the Shercock AC club team along with Davy Mc Cormack, Daniel Ward, Conor Carolan, Paudie Mc Elroy and Seán Smith and finished 12th team out of 18 teams in the club category. a great achievement for a very young team.
Abby Smith also collected a top 12 medal when she fought hard in the Girls U16 4K. Abby battled steadily throughout the race, putting in a superb performance to finish 4th, an impressive result given that Abby has another year in this age group. Abby was also 3rd runner home for an incredibly strong Ulster team who had all of their 6 runners home in the top 8, securing them the Gold medals in their provincial category.
Well done to Dylan, Abby and the Boys U12 team.
