Congratulations to the Shercock AC athletes who competed for Cavan at the recent National Community Games T&F Finals at the weekend.
Dylan O’Reilly (Lurgan) had a superb performance in the boys U12 600m winning the gold medal, a remarkable achievement as he has another year in this age group.
Mark Kearns, (Annagh/ Drumlane) also running a year out of age, ran a tactical race in the boys U16 1500m. With 100m to go, Mark took the lead and powered up the home straight to secure the gold medal.
Eadaoin Lynch, (Killann) put in a sterling performance in the Girls U16 200m to take 4th place. Abbie Smith,(Kingscourt) ran strongly to finish 6th in the Girls U14 800m. Freya Gormley (Killann) competed in the U16 discus and the experience gained will stand to her in future competitions.
